Hi Everyone,
We have had a lettuce disease that is running rampant through our crop and would love some help in identifying the disease. It was first noticed about a month ago and has since become more of a problem. I'm attaching a couple photos as it progresses. Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks!
Lettuce Disease
The black spots sort of look like the fruiting bodies or spores of some fungi.
Alternate possibility is frass (bug poop). Does the black stuff come off easily, leaving nothing behind? Like individual tiny beads? More likely bug poop. Does the black stuff partially come off, perhaps like powder, but more is left behind? More like fungi.
