Any Echinopsis pros?

This cactus has been virtually ignored in my collection for years. It has been repotted numerous times, blooms white (sorry, no pics that I can find) and happily survives abuse and neglect. The main stem is 8" tall and 3 1/2" in diameter. After looking at all the google images of Echinopsis, recording any species that were remotely similar in growth habit and googling those I came up with two likely possibilities: E. eyriesii (that cactiguide says blossoms red or pink) and E. multiplex (that cactiguide does not even list, unless it is a synonym for one of the 90 plus descriptions I did not read!).

Any thoughts or suggestions for me to follow?

Echinopsis eyriesii does come in white. I'm pretty sure that ID is right.

Daisy, E. Eyriesii seems to be the best morphological match. I'll go with that for now. Thanks a bunch.

I think multiplex is associated with E. oxygona (I have a plant that came as E. oxygona multiplex (pink) - it indeed has pink flowers.

I agree E. eyriesii definitely looks like a good match.
Here is a pic of a few of the multitude of those I have planted in pots over the years (it makes very many pups...) all in full bloom at the same time.

Mcvansoest, what a show! Mine seems to limit itself to one or two blooms. Sure looks like a perfect match. Thanks for confirmation.

The Echinopsis eyriesii has been decommissioned and Echinopsis oxygona is now the accepted name, as listed in DavesGarden Plantfiles. There are two varieties of E. oxygona, one having longer spines and white flowers most of the time. The other variety is "brevispina" meaning 'short spines' and having white to light and even medium pink flowers. Here are the links. The taxonomy is up-to-date.

It looks to me like all the photos here are the "brevispina" variety of E. oxygona. (with what we have to go by).
