Okay, we're just over a month away from the Fall Plant Swap so let's start firming up the food list.
As usual, we'll have a pot-luck luncheon. I'll provide the main course, beef kabobs. And I guarantee they'll be delicious. I'll even try to cook them medium well against my better judgment to appease the masses. If anyone is allergic to red meat or just serious about the fight against heart disease, DM me and I'll provide some kind of fowl for your consumption. I'll also provide bottled water, some iced tea, and soft drinks. If you want any adult type beverages, you are welcome to BYOB.
So, sign up in this thread for a side dish or other item and I'll keep this post updated with the consolidated list. Given I'll be including lots of veggies on the skewers, no need to bring more.

Fall 2015 Plant Swap Potluck Food Thread
Probably a hot potato salad unless I change my mind
I'll bring Sangria, mixed salad and salad dressings.
Okay, I will make some sort of brownies (anyone surprised?) and something else.
Those kabobs sound wonderful! I'll bring deviled eggs.
Besides my usual-- home-made pickles--I will also bring a main side dish.
edited: cause I decided what else I will bring.
I will bring the Macaroni, Ham and Cheese casserole again.
It usually goes over well--and is very yummy...
Gita

Is it possible to 'sticky' this thread so it doesn't get lost?
what can I bring at 2 pm?
Dessert?
Ice?
Alka Seltzer...?
Anything you want, Sally. With people arriving at 1:00, we won't have eaten by the time you arrive.
Oh, good!
Cam--
My Mac and ham and cheese casserole is best freshly baked.
Would you mind if I use your oven for half an hour or so to bake it?
If that is inconvenient--I can bake it at home and just warm it up.
Thanks, G.
No problem, Gita. We want it to be at its very best, right ? :)
Thanks---
I felt like I was showing up way late at 2 pm. Sounds like the dinner bell will ring as we arrive! How about my trademark crispy coleslaw? And sweet tea?
Gluten free statement:
Crispy coleslaw= cabbage, sweet peppers, onions, sugar, vinegar, salt , celery seed

Sounds great, Sally. Yes, I doubt the majority will be ready to eat right at 1:00 so we'll ear around 2 - 2:15. Hope that works for everyone. We'll grouse throughout the afternoon, nobody will need to go home afterward and eat dinner. :)
No, sorry, NO ONE will be allowed to grouse : - )
Not even on my grass ? I don't plan to mow the grass between now and then, I'm just tired of mowing. I'll need some grousing.
You won't find any Millers complaining about anyone's lawn, lol
Good thing. I have a no whining, no complaining rule on my property. Offenders of said rule will be dealt with completely void of mercy.
So, grousing is A OK but whining and complaining serious offenses. Mmm, got it!
Yes... you're a fast learner, Sally ! The rest of you... follow Sally's lead, she's got it !
I see what you did there, Muddy. LOL
It looks like Catbird is the only one bringing dessert, so I'll bring something sweet. Maybe cookies?
Cookies.... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
How do I get this thread stickied like the other Swap threads ? I'm thinking some people might have missed it.

Thanks
Done, thanks Coleup.
I never knew it was that easy!
Yep, our Admins Melody and Terry are willing and able! Cam, when you are ready post swap a week or so, you can request that the Fall Swap threads be 'unstickied' and they will float on down the chart.
Got it, thanks !
I can bring dumplings as I have done since joining this group, but please let me know if you are all sick of dumplings by now.
I'm not sick of dumplings; please bring them!!
we LOVE the dumplings!! I have been craving...
Ok, dumplings then. :o)
Darcy said she'd make gluten free pasta salad for me to bring. I'm still not sure if she'll be coming though.
I'll put you down for it, just let me know in the main thread if she's coming for sure. Hope she can ! Thanks.
Sure thing, thanks.
Jeff---
Here is what goes into my yummy casserole. Tell me what you cannot eat.
Probably everything! What can be subbed?
Mac, Ham, and Cheese Casserole
6-8oz. (dry) elbow, bowknot, or any other small macaroni
I am sure there is gluten-free pasta
4-6 Tbsp. Butter or Margarine
4 eggs
1 ¾ cup light cream or 1/2 and ½
½ tsp. Salt and ¼ tsp. Pepper—or to taste for both
1 tsp. Dry Mustard
½ tsp. Paprika
3 cups good, cooked ham in ¼” dice (One lg. ham steak will do)
1 ½ cups shredded, sharp Cheddar Cheese
CHEESE CRUMB TOPPING:
Combine ½ cup shredded, sharp Cheddar Cheese with 2-3 Tbsp. Of fine, dry bread crumbs and 2-3 Tbsp. of melted butter/margarine. Sprinkle over casserole.
***I usually sub "Planko" for the bread crumbs.
I cannot eat anything but gluten free noodles, usually brown rice noodles are best for baking. Also, the breading is going to be an issue. Thanks for asking. I should have enough to eat with the kabob and Darcy's pasta salad. I really appreciate you checking.
