My pink Algarve lilies are sometimes a lovely light shell pink. Sometimes it is so dark as to be a light maroon. This year they are all quite dark and we have had a very cool spring and summer. It has rarely reached 80 degrees. Is it possible that the color is lighter when it's hotter and darker when it's cooler?

Does climate affect lily color?

This is what I was told and find to be quite true. I think it relates to night temperatures especially, but you'd have to check on that.
Thanks, Echoes.
Now that it's at the end of the lily season I saw that my Algarve also lightened up as they were dying. But I'm glad to get confirmation about my suspicions about temperature.
