Looks like a passiflora. Not sure if it is the prized edible variety of passion fruit or a common maypop.

Thank you for your response. The question was posted for me by a Twitter friend, and I just now subscribed so that I could read the responses

Welcome to DG!

Thank you.
It bloomed yesterday and produced beautifully unusual flowers

That's it! They are extraordinary aren't they?
Go to the tool bar across the top of this page and click on "Guides & Information" then click on Plant Files (known here as PF) and enter passion flower in the common name section, hit enter then arrow down. You'll be able to identify which cultivar you have from the info there.

Thanks again. Apparently notifications are not sent when there are replies posted. I just saw this

This site seems to have been created sometime around the turn of the century and not updated since. It's almost impossible to navigate on my phone. I'll try what you suggested when I'm able to on a computer. Thanks again.

Longer than turn of the century, but the updates are what is driving me crazy. Horrible differences tween cellphone pics and laptop pics!
