The birds are eating my tomatoes, not just a pin prick but eating 1/2 of the tomato!
Any suggestions on covering etc
Birds eating tomatoes
Harvest the tomatoes as soon as they will turn color in the bottom.
Let them ripen in the kitchen counter.
Their taste will just be the same as if they did ripen outside.
I have no pest/birds/squirrel problems with this method.
Happy gardening
They might be looking for water. You can put out water that is available for them to drink and that may keep them out of your tomatoes. I let all my tomatoes ripen on the vine and I don't have problems with the fruit getting eaten.
Do you see them eating the tomato? Could it be some other vermine? I had something eating my tomatoes last year and thought it was the chipmunks. It turn out to be field mice.
