Even Monet had neighbors...

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

who wondered what the heck he was up to. Here's an excerpt from something I recently came across: "...Monet dug ponds despite the protest of neighbors who feared he would poison the water with strange plants..."

Now where would the world be without Monet's signature paintings of water lilies? I take heart when I read of what he went through to carve out his gardens at Giverney and Vetheuil. Of course, he had a *little* help from a contingent of gardeners; but he had the courage to create a landscape according to his own vision, and not simply clone what was fashionable at the time.

So, now you know who my hero/role model is - who's yours?
