Thanks, Sally. He actually placed in 3 categories. Your pumpkin picture looks like it would have been a winner. Awesome.

Oh, Pat, you're very kind to my pumpkin, thanks.
Now I'll look for David's others...

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Another one of David's was in garden Sculptures--where David uses pile fittings(?)
to do some neat stuff. I voted for it as a #2 or #3 in the category.

Can't think of the third???

I should consider entering some photos, except DG does not accept older photos.
They want more recent....A shame! I have some good ones...
The "other site" just had their first photo contest...I bet i could enter some there next year.
They don't have date-taken restraints...It was discussed....

Overall--I have to say that I the photos entered quality was the worst I have seen in
all the years this has been happening. I have never seen more out-of-focus photos
submitted!! Pictures sideways and upside-down as well. What were they thinking???
And--several out-of-category as well. C'mon. people! THINK!!!!

I believe it has to do with people taking photos with their cell phones.
It HAS to be the problem!!

Gita - Pat (ecnalg) created the sculptures in the photo.

Aspenhill had a wonderful photo of her turtle garden entered in the Private Landscapes category.

David entered in several, and placed in Garden Art and Container Gardening (photo below) as well as the one Sally mentioned. I created the garden art from old sprinkler heads, wire nuts inserted into the holes and then beads glued onto them for eyes.

Sally's pumpkin really has personality. We didn't grow any this year.

Pat---
Shame on me assuming that ONLY men play with pipes ans sprinkler heads.
You are a better woman than i will ever be when it comes to building stuff.

My Ex had all the talents--to an unbelievable level! He could build anything!
The thing I miss most in my life.

SO--Great job to both of you! Gita

Where did you see that photos for the contest were restricted to "recent"? I missed it, looked again and still can't spot it.

I don't believe that photos are required to be recent, just not previously entered.

Congrats GT. I never did get to view most of the entries and only voted on a few but I sure did like seeing all the winners photos.

Pirl--

I don't know where I got that idea????? maybe it was just from some idle chatter....

Greenthumb is right. I was wrong...Not the 1st time!

Sorry...Gita

It was suggested on the "other site" but not implemented.

Love this one that a sweet friend sent me:

Congratulations, ecnalg and greenthumb! Cute garden "creatures", and I loved the photo of your cat.

I hadn't looked at the photos before now. There's a lot of talent in DG.
