Any tips for newbie interested in winter sowing in Texas zone 8b? Which seeds have you started using this method? All tips and observations are greatly appreciated and please tell me what worked and what problems you encountered!

You may want to go to wintersown.org site and look at the lists under zone 8b .
I expect that in Texas, you can start many annuals and perennials by winter sowing them soon.

I have been an avid Gardner - but winter sowing is new to me also. Though I believe we can sow just about all of it from all that I read in the cold country.

Things I do religiously.. containers have to have drainage holes, sterile potting mix, and keep them moist but not sopping wet. That's pretty much it. Once temps begin to turn you'll notice more green in more of your containers every couple of days.
