CLOSED: Have Salvia spathacea, ready to dig and send

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 9b)

Sounds crazy but California natives go DORMANT in the summer. So this is time!

This plant only grows wild in California; I do not know if it will even grow if planted elsewhere! Also, postal trucks are still getting pretty hot on their routes, I think, but if you want to pay Priority Postage, I will send!

Calflora says communities are: "Chaparral, Northern Oak Woodland, Southern Oak Woodland, Foothill Woodland, Coastal Strand". Calflora page:

It roots where it touches ground (and gets a little moisture), and it may also have rooted from runners IDK -- I do not know how many starters I may obtain when I dig and split; I will send until I run out in order of requests. (I'm going to move a few to my backyard Native bed, but this plant is really not showy enough for my front garden.)(Even though I've had it there for probably ten years, I've always planted some other garden Salvias in front or to the side of it.)

Crystal does it need full sun to thrive?

Santa Ana, CA(Zone 9b)

Hi, I don't think so. Mine gets a lot of sun, but I know this plant does OK under oaks, where conditions thwart many other species!

Read this:

and let me know!

That's perfect. I have ornamental pear trees that provide shade for much of my back yard and it looks as if these will grow well there.

Send me a D-mail and let me know where and how much postage to send.
