"I live in Orange County, Southern California (Sunset zone 23), where the traffic is miserable but the gardening is good.
My garden aim is to create a soothing environment with low-maintenance/low-water/high-payoff gardens.
My favorite group of plants is (probably) the salvias.
To accommodate my husband's interests, we also have a number of fruit-producing plants, particularly hard-to-get-at-the-market fruits. The harvests have not yet been cost-effective, but it's fun to eat something you have grown yourself!
In the spring, my mom (BloomsWithaView) and I like to go to the chaparral and desert to identify flowers for our "life-time-lists".
My indoor interests include sewing and the fiber crafts (I spin and knit and have some weaving looms too). I like to solve problems -- that's why you'll find me hanging out in the Identification Forum!" |
