Julie, I had to kill a couple of hours today waiting for the auto place to finish routine maintenance on my Explorer. I was looking for Ball wide mouth lids, the white plastic non-reactive ones, and ran in Dollar General for a few minutes. No go on the lids I wanted, but did notice the other canning supplies. They have tongs and lifters. Probably not the greatest or the longest lasting, but most of us have a DG store in the neighborhood. A cheapo might get you through a few seasons. They caught my eye cause they were red...lol
