peony virus

Dewitt, MI

I have what may sound like a crazy question but I'm wondering if anyone may know about this. I have a lot of peonies and for years have had some sort of virus which was getting worse every year. This year, 2014, my peonies show no sign of having a virus and I am wondering if it's possible the unusually cold winter we had in Michigan may have killed the virus. Is this possible, or, has anyone else experienced this?

Hmm...definitely sounds possible. It would be the first time I've heard that an unusually cold winter helped a plant...Lol
