Hi,let me start by introducing myself,i"m Athol from Joburg South Africa, been gardening for years but recently started getting to know dhalias when a friend gave me some tubers to plant which each spring send up over a metre high stems have to resort to major staking next season, but thats another discussion.my issue is with the annual dhalias which are my new favourite.i planted some from seed and they grew and bloomed for what felt like forever i pulled them out at the end of their season and noticed that they had self set, ever joyous i transplanted them not expecting much but to my surprise they have started acting like the tuber form of dhalias, whereas the parent plant was no more than a 40cm high bush the offspring are now far exceeding that height with a huge increase in flower size as well.is this normal?
