I have oodles, ~40, kale seedlings just germinated in the last three weeks. But as I may have said here, my over-wintered kale is already bolting, since long before any 70*F temps. Do you think my seedlings are a waste of time? How about if I put them in shade?
TIA for any insight.

Kale seedlings for naught?
I think your kale will do just fine if you plant out what you want for eating through the summer.
I often plant brassicas this time of year. Your over wintered kale has had enough and wants to go to seed, but new kale plants will probably put out plenty of leaf before they bolt later on.
Ah, okay, thank you.
