Palm tree fruit...

I took a rather large fruit(?) out of a neighbors yard trash...are these things edible? I am assuming this came from one of their palms...they have a number of different ones...I don't know them and didn't want to bother them.

I wouldn't eat them! Some palm fruits are edible of course, but I don't think that one is for humans, it looks like a foxtail or Christmas palm fruit to me
