Can I cut back all the dead wood on the Pride of Barbados? There are tiny little shoots finally appearing at the base, so I don't think any growth will occur along the old branches. Is this correct?
Also, how do I fertilize it and with what?
Pride of Barbados
yes, it can be trimmed down as far as you need to. start up high and work your way down because sometimes what looks dead isn't, just needs a trim till you come to good wood. i only feed mine once a year, after it flowers, with any decent granular mix (something with more than NPK) you want the minor nutrients too just as a general rule but keep it on the lean side.
