Ah, my favorite of the many bonuses of composting, volunteer seedlings, apparently, mom threw a tomato in there that had gone past its prime, so now that we have been having flip flop weather between warm and cold, little tomato seedlings have been popping up in everything that i have added compost to, containers of potting mix, etc. What i find impressive is how resilient they appear to be, they just went through a freeze overnight, no protection other than from wind--from being up against the back of the house, and these guys appear to have been totally unaffected by it.
