Why are my daffodils changing from yellow to white? I dug them from the fort knox military range in Kentucky. They had been growing wild sense the government took over the land eons ago!. I had them at a home there for at least 15 years. I moved to Indianapolis IN. five years ago and brought around 30 bulbs with me. Last year 2 were white but this year over half of them bloomed white! I don't understand why! I have never introduced any other bulbs with them. They are all from stock that is over 100 years old. Can someone tell me what's going on? I don't like the white I want my traditional yellow back!

I don't exactly know why that is but I know it does happen. Perhaps it has something to do with plant genetics.
