Philodendron Dying Fast! Please help!

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

A week or so ago, this philodendron was healthy and beautiful. It wilted slighted, which it does when thirsty, so I watered, but it did not come back upright. Instead, it continues to wilt, yellow, and is now losing leaves. There are areas that look almost scorched. There are no bugs or webs that I can see, however, I noticed a great many eggs in the soil.these are small and white. They are not whiteflies, as they do not move when I water. A new leaf has popped and is not yet affected. It's been 2-3 days. Does anyone know what this could be and how I can treat? I am losing this gorgeous plant fast. I prefer organic treatments.

Is it in hot sun? Did you have a cold spell recently? Is the drainage clogged? The yellow leaf is probably old and ready to fall off so you could remove it. The other leaf that looks like it had a dry spell at one time could be trimmed back to the green tissue to make it look somewhat better.

If the water is draining I'd probably give it a good soaking but I don't know what the condition of the soil is or the roots. If the soil is wet, you might want to pull the plant out of the pot and look at the condition of the roots before doing anything drastic.

Not sure those are insect eggs - could be debris from nearby trees or some kind of fungus spores.

Thanks for your response. I should mention that the external roots, the ones growing on the outside of the pot, have died suddenly too.
The plant was wintered in the house, set outside only after I noticed this issue, as our weather has turned warm. It was exposed to the cold, briefly, however, when we lost power due to an ice storm in January. Temps in the house were down, but not freezing.(48-61F)
Every leaf is affected somewhat, the pics are only examples, two more fell off today. If I remove the damaged ones I will be down to the one new leaf!
The pot drains well, I have tried watering, feeding. The white things appeared while it was still indoors...they cannot be blown debris. I will explore further the thought that they may be fungi, and try treating for that!
I thank you very much for your suggestions; I appreciate your input!

It almost sounds like your roots are rotting. I'd pull it out of the pot and examine the roots at this stage. If they are rotting/rotted you can cut the stem off at the point of rot and start it once again. You may have to callus the cut before trying to repot it though.

I've had mine for many years without any serious trouble in the same pot. I water it sparingly in winter but in summer I water it often outdoors.

I don't know what's going on, but the first thing to do is to remove the plant from its pot and see what the root system looks like. At first sight the leaves sure do look like they are cold damaged. If your roots are mushy and/or brown and dried, go ahead and clip them until you get to firmness and green color. It really doesn't matter whether you remove the yellowed leaves at this point, but you probably will end up doing so. They probably won't turn green again and thus are of no use to the plant. Even though these plants do fine with slightly moist potting soil, you want to make sure the soil is well draining and that the soil does not stay wet. Slight drying out before watering is what you want to see.

Thank you for your suggestions. I will try looking at the roots later today and re-pot as necessary.

I water once a week, and find it is dry by this time. Occasionally, if we have the heater on a lot, and the fireplace too, it wants a bit extra. It always "tells" me if it's thirsty by wilting slightly, but I rarely see that, as I know my plants fairly well. I have had this one for 21 years. It has never had an issue until now.

Let us know what you find when it is un-potted.
