I have a very old Jackmanii that was my mothers before it was mine... It gets moved every time I move.... but next year I am moving to zone9a and I wonder if it will survive.
I'm assuming it needs a "cold" period. I would hate to move it down only to have it die.
TIA,
Terese
Jackmanii Clematis
Got a lot of info on how to grow finally at Wayside Gardens said to zone 8. Don't think we would have enough cold for it. Sure is a beautiful vine.
Bonnie
thanks Bonnie. it is gorgeous and HUGE. I'll be sad to leave it behind at the house, as you never know if the new owner is a gardener... made that mistake at my last home.
Maybe you can find a friend to adopt the Clematis. I did that with quite a few of my plants when we moved down here. I gave them as "remember me gifts". I still get pics.
