Chinese Evergreen

I have had my Chinese Evergreen plant for over 20 years...it now has a red pod that looks like it may flower. Is this common?

Sounds more like a seed if it is a red pod. The flower should be a spathe and white in color.

When red it should be ripe enough to harvest and plant (remove pulp for best results).
