What to do with the seed pods

I got some Philipino lilies, 6feet tall, the blooms where nice white, now that it bloomed away what do I do with the stem and the pods, they are still green. Etelka

From what I know about lilies and its not much you can just cut off the seedpods so the strength will go to the bulbs or leave them for the seeds to develop and either let the birds eat them or try to sprout them. If this is its first year in the ground I'd lean towards cutting it off so the bulb will get bigger and stronger.

I have a friend with Philippine lilies and she allows the seeds to dry on the plant and they sprout all over her yard. If you allow them to stay on till the dry and start to split you will have them to trade.
