I'm growing cayenne and I swear they are not hot at all. I have hot Ban peppers that are steaming hot and some other little pepper I have grown for years, and it is VERY hot. But the cayenne is not hot, I'm picking them when red and ripe.
First year growing cayenne, is there different types? Mild, hot, hotter, etc.?
I thought maybe the first few ripe ones on each plant might not be hot and thought maybe that the rest of the peppers that come after would be hot. Not so.
Thanks for any info!!
Cayenne not hot??
There are several versions of Cayenne. http://www.thechileman.org/results.php?chile=1&find=Cayenne&heat=Any&origin=Any&genus=Any&subscribe=Search Most of the hot cayenne will run 30,000 - 50, 000 scu.
Thank you for the link, very informational.
