To all the SoCal gardeners with native plant gardens:
I put in a Solanum xanti this spring, and for months it was growing super fast and looked wonderfully lush. Just in the past couple weeks, though, the leaves have slowly yellowed and died, with the exception of one stem arising from a sucker. I haven't grown these before, so I'm not sure if they're one of our natives that will die if they get too much water, which is more likely to have happened than it not getting enough. (It gets a small amount of sprinkler water 2x/week right now). I've heard these are difficult to establish-- does anyone have some tips for me? I'm in Riverside, CA.
Solanum xanti dying help!
