wee polydamas swallowtail caterpillars on wild aristolochia. new eggs show up every few days.

Congratulations! I rarely see Queens and my Polydamas haven't shown up yet this year. I have lots of Pipevine and no caterpillars. But maybe soon...

these are regulars here. they will leave for a couple of months, maybe 3 months, every year. during their vacations i hustle to get the food supply back in shape for when they return. the monarch monarch's and other swallowtails will probably be back september/october.
