SUMMER 2013
sliver moon is awesome!
Lovely all, and you know I put Bill on a rock pedestal.
Mrs. RO Backhouse is still doing making promises at my house. Do the beetles delay or prevent the blooms? I can live with tattered foliage. With my doggie out there smelling everything I just don't want to use anything toxic to him.
Have to work very hard here against the wooly adelgid on the hemlocks, which is hard to do with rain. Fortunately they are outside the dog fence. Nursery guy promises me the tree specialists are needed only once the infestation gets up higher on the tree.
Pam, the white iris is not mine, but it's very pretty....delicate! Pixie, I'm amazed you can grow Dutch iris, they are so marginal for me.......Elegant Lady is truly that....
The garden is open but don't forget your boots. We have standing water over all the pathways, because the pond has overflowed. The Japanese irises are loving all the wet. I have never had one stand at 43 '' before. Tomorrow this noid clump of tall white ones should be stunning. Blooming now is First Act, noid, Freckled Geisha. and Frilled Enchantment. I will be dividing Frilled Enchantment if anyone would like to swap.
Just beautiful, Mittsy!
drool drool drool over the iris!!!.. very nice!!
today's pics.. if anyone can spot Memory's thornless blackberries in the middle please let me know.. before I yank them with the rest of the weeds

Mittsy the Iris are beautiful!
thanks.. I spotted 3 of them!!.. hope that is what they are
Beautiful, mittsy
Yep, Allison, those be blackberries
woo hoo!!
I have had one thornless blackberry by my compost....never had a berry on it....last year Garret 'mistakenly' hit it with Roundup! I was hoping one day it would flower :>(
Getting some berries on ours. Hopefully someone will get them before the birds. We'll be away when they ripen.
pretty Jen
Bill, I just showed Hank your awesome photos, and he said, "He's in the wrong business!" We think you should be in landscape design. Everything looks fantastic! I especially love all the blending of colors and textures! You couldn't possibly want anything better!
Jo, love your combos as well!
Mittsy, your skunks are very cute.....now. LOL. Your blooms are lovely!
Jen, that Open My Eyes DL is a stunner!
Celeste, I'm glad you posted pics of Niobe and Silver Moon. They are in my future! I was thinking about them, and now it's a lock!
RD, your iris's are beauties!
Great shots from everyone!
Bill, remember this shrub you gave me that you first thoight was a weigela and then changed your mind? Here are its first flowers.....what do you think it is?
I think it's upside down, and a lovely shrub.
Mittsy, is it upside down when you click on the thumbnail? On my ipad it opens up right side up, but I never know how ipad shots come out on 'normal' computers. LOL. at first Bill thought it was a strawberry wiegela, and that seems plausible to me now that I've seen the blooms. It is a very pretty shrub no matter what it is.

DonnieBrook, yes, still upside down when you click on it.
Lovely photos, everyone. It has been so discouraging to have so much rain and be unable to get in the gardens. Today it stopped long enough for me to venture out, and I found this little sempervivum doing its thing perfectly; I had to take a picture. Once in awhile, things turn out just right!
The Japanese Iris was the only one at the nursery that hadn't bloomed yet, so I bought it, and today it opened. It is called "Gusto".
Last photo is the front lawn garden, which was the only one I had time to mulch and weed before all the rain started, so it is the only one ready for a photo.
louise it is Deutzia x hybrid Magican - I gave another away last week.
rosemary I would like to see that rock pedestal :)
Both lovely plants!
Thanks, Bill! That's it alright! The blooms are very pretty!
Lovely JI's Mittsy
Allison that hydrangea is killing me! So blue!!!!
Louise thats a beautiful shrub!
Robin I love the lilies, but you knew I would. :)
Nice DL Jen!
Wynne, what ever the name of that JI...it's stunning!!
I spent the day at Eartheart Gardens with my DD Tiffany, DGC Oryanna, Isabella and Charlie. We also met Pirl & Jack there and Frank from Maine. :)
Lovely blooms but we got rained out. :(
WOW
Nice Celeste!
You would of loved it Jo!!! I got 6 huge pots for $50, 2 for DD as it's her B-Day tomorrow and 4 new ones for me. :)
Thanks Ronnie, it was eye candy!!!
so gorgeous!
How did you stop at 6? Wow is right....what a place!
Celeste, someday I need to come see your irises in person, you have so many beauties and irises are my favorite flower.
