My tomatoes have gotten their share of trouble this season - army worms! Leaf Miners! Fungus! Cats!
Now that I seem to have some healthy growth on the top 1/3 of the tomatoes, I've staked them vertically. I can see I probably planted them too close, and should've staked them sooner.
Should I...
-take out the diseased leaves, even though there's still green on them, if they look halfway dead? So far, I've only taken off the obviously dead leaves and removed the plants that were skeletonized completely.
-fertilize/feed? My spring tomatoes are about 5' tall. The second run for fall are about a foot tall.
-add some extra soil/coir/compost around the base? The soil tends to wash away pretty quickly - I seem to only be able to keep it level for about a month.
Now that they're staked and bug-free, I feel like leaving them alone might be the best course of action, but please - any advice welcome!
