These are from my "Early Girl". I've never seen this before. Does anyone know what caused this?? I also posted on Tomato forum.
What caused this??
Did you have a lot of rain? or are they in full sun?
Interesting for sure.
Plant_thang may have an answer. They are big into veg gardening.
Looks a lot like blossom end rot.
It looks like they were sitting on the ground on bare dirt?
Blossom end rot. Its caused by lack of calcium. Its a real bummer, I can attest to that.
What a shame. :-(
At the tomato forum bloom end rot was a the best diagnostic, lack of calcium. Then some say, sun scale. DavidofDeland, tomatoes are not on the ground. Thank you all for the advise. Dorothy
Dorothy in case you come back this is a great article with photos, and sunscald looks to be the problem: http://www.weekendgardener.net/vegetable-gardening-tips/growing-tomatoes-070707.htm
