My Juniperus chinensis glaucus (blue pfitzer) is 10-12' tall and needs to be pruned. I would like it to be shorter but it looks like topping the branches would make it look weird when it grows back. Has anyone tried topping branches of this plant? I've cut some branches off at the bottom of the plant but, of course, that doesn't solve my problem of wanting it shorter so that it doesn't block the view from the window that it now covers.
Prune pfitzer juniper
LOL, Ill have to go look up that juniper. Humid day in g'ville.
All Junipers can be pruned and especially now. If you cut only the bottom branches and not the top, it will still cover the windows and look odd unless you trim it evenly. If the goal is to open the windows you don't have much choice!
