Maryland Agriculture, the “Ag Center”, in Cockeysville MD. Inaugurated in 2010 by County Executive Jim Smith, the Ag Center consolidates support services for farmers, educators, gardeners, and students of all ages.

WHAT IS LAND ART? Land art, earthworks (coined by Robert Smithson), or Earth art is an art movement in which landscape and the work of art are inextricably linked. It is also an art form that is created in nature, using natural materials such as soil, rock (bed rock, boulders, stones), organic media (logs, branches, leaves), and water with introduced materials such as concrete, metal, asphalt, or mineral pigments.

On Friday, October 23, join Sustainable Loudoun for a free reception and talk on global inequality and climate change at the annual Don Sandros Energy Summit. It will also be a special 10th anniversary celebration for Sustainable Loudoun!

The doors open at 6 p.m. for a reception with the guest speaker, University of Maryland professor Klaus Hubacek, along with local for-profit and non-profit vendors. Food and wine will be served.

The talk and discussion begin at 7 p.m. Professor Klaus Hubacek will discuss global income inequality and carbon footprints.

The event is free to the public. This is the 9th annual Don Sandros Energy Summit, organized by Sustainable Loudoun in collaboration with George Washington University’s Ashburn Campus and other local organizations to present lectures and discussions on human sustainability.

Hey Judy, So nice to hear from you.
Sorry to say that I haven't been involved in any of the YGC activities of late.
In the past it has been very nice. Come early for the best results. There are many very nice plants dug up from members gardens plus they have many annuals. There is a white elephant table and some garden art and gardening items for sale. They have raffle tickets for sale, last year Ric won a Martin House from one of the raffles.
Do you know that there is a Plant Swap at Critters house on May 7th?
