Who has grown Wendy's salvia?

Montgomery, AL(Zone 8b)

I have just found this at one Lowe's garden center
no other Lowe's in this part of the state ordered it off the truck.
It has beautiful long fushia red blooms and dark stems
I am thinking it will grow 4 foot by 4 foot here or bigger.
Wish all salvias would stand erect..and not have to be staked.
Have you grown it? It is a perennial in my area...zone 8.

What salvias do you like for hummingbirds that do stand more erect
and bloom for a long season?
thanks

Wendy's Wish is a great salvia, and it can get big. Hummingbirds love it. I also have Black and Blue salvia, and it is an erect grower. Also a hummingbird magnet.

Happy tail
does Wendys salvia flop down a lot
or does it stand fairly erect as much as Black/blue does?
What do you think of May night and Rose Sensation salvia does it grow erect
and how does it do?
thank you

Wendy's wish stands much more upright. May Night has erect flowers but low foliage and Rose Sensation has not reliably returned for me here. But Rose Sensation is a mounding grower, with flowers above the foliage also. I also love Salvia coccinea "Lady in Red" and "Coral Nymph" for upright growers, and they reseed and return the next year.

I don't mean to butt in - just a comment on 'May Night'. I grow it and love it. It's very hardy for me and the hummingbirds and bfs love it!

This is mine coming on this year.
