Weeds or Wildflowers?

It is - one of the preferred larval foods - I only know because I did side by side blind taste tests. :D

Amanda, Seen some place you needed a pic of paradoxa foliage. Pic #1 the leaf in the middle is the leaf from Echinacea paradoxa
Pic #2 is the bloom of paradoxa. It's still a baby so I don't have a lot of foliage.
Pic#3 is Echinacea pallidia

Thank you!

All nice plants, but none match my mystery plant. We will identify it by process of elimination. :D

I tried to grow the E. paradoxa last year from seed obtained in trade, but I don't think it was labeled correctly from the get go.

Sorry Carole - this got away from me. Round stems. still growing. Fuzzy, upright leaves. At least 5'5" now. No sign of flower buds.

Some snaps of the blooms today.

AND a new Weeds or Wildflowers thread 'cause this one is getting slow to load.

Will you come on over? Thanks. :)

Mystery Monarda about to bloom;
The infamous 12' Agastache;
The amazing White Swan coneflower;
The back 40 with rudbeckia, monarda, agastache, coneflowers, ironweed, Chocolate eupatorium; and
Spanish flag (Ipomoea lobata)(definitely a weed!). :D

Picked this up on a clearance rack at our Southern States over the winter.

I've always wanted to plant ferns, but what was I thinking? After the power company came last summer and cleared 19 years of growth (!!!) I don't have shade enough to plant ferns.

Especially not 'The King' Ostrich Fern. Plant tag says this variety will grow to 72". Not fair, but right now I have him (the King!) in a pot. I'm thinking he might need to go to a better home.
