You should go the the plantfiles section and read up on this species... it is one of the trickier ones to keep happy in your climate. Palms and cycads can certainly be grown in the same soil and often are. Watering schedules are based on how dry soil is, how small/large tree is, size of pot, time of year and weather. Palms generally like palm fertilizers, but Miracle Gro works well, too.
