Old Sable palms. How special the old ones are...
I must say, that is one of the tallest Ive seen, and Ive seen alot of palm trees.
Off to HD for some cow manure. Way to much yard work awaiting me. No palms involved tho. I dont like keeping them pruned.

Apparently some of these palm are way older than anyone realized.

It's a beauty, and you are very fortunate to have this in your garden. What a story it could tell. I attended a gardening conference in Gainesville last year, and some of these old palms are being documented through old photographs, what was growing nearby, landmarks, etc, etc., and some of them are known to be a couple hundred years old -- at least.

Awesome photo's - thanks for sharing. Kind of new to FL and palms but that is by far the tallest I have seen and I am in Pensacola where people have been planting and meddling since the 1500's. I wonder what the record height is?
