I'm thinking of building a strawberry tower to grow my berries this year. Does anyone have a good experience with one of these. I' so tired of battling slugs, snails, and mold. I do not to use plastic mulch in my garden but that's what the commercial growers use around here to keep the berries off the soil. The sluggo is relatively ineffective and I'm an organic gardener so Im thinking that I can use copper tape at the base of the tower to keep the slugs out. Any other ideas? I originally planted my berries along the edges of my flower/fruit tree, bed but the kids are grossed out by never getting a berry thats not moldy or chewed.
Tired of slugs and mold on my strawberries!
