I am in the market for a greenhouse probably 8X8 to start...I am looking at a model that can be extended by using an extension kit...

Looking at the model, it seems the roof vent is manual. I would highly recommend any greenhouse you buy to have the automatic vents. You will have cooked plants otherwise. I bought a 5 wall BC greenhouse this spring. I am very pleased with the quality and sturdiness of the frame. It has already lived through some pretty stiff winds here. While you wouldn't need the 5 wall model in Texas, they have lots of models/options available. The model I bought is expandable. They sell through a number of outlets or you can buy direct.
I sent the company an email about the vent. I am pretty sure an automatic one can be added.
What is a BC greenhouse? Do they have a web site?
Thanks for your input...
Apparently the automatic roof vent can't be added..I need to keep looking.
This one is nice...little more than I wanted to spend..but it does have an automatic vent.

Here is link to the BC Greenhouse builders. They sell through many of the on line greenhouse suppliers as well as direct.

They make many different kinds of kits. I am very happy with the one I got, a 12 X 20 5 wall to withstand north Idaho weather. It is well designed and was relatively straight forward to assemble although the instructions/drawings could have been a bit clearer. (And this is from 2 former Boeing workers, we do know how to follow assembly directions. Better drawings really would have helped). I would buy one again. Be sure to get a greenhouse as large as you can afford. They just fill up so quickly! This is a photo just as we were finishing it up this spring before I landscaped around it.
I built a Harbor Frieght GH with manual vents but I also installed 2 of the Bayliss vent controls which seem to be working fine and are enough to prevent overheating early in the season. Be careful if you order these prices vary a lot between suppliers. You will need a gable fan and vent for summer. Ric

Cong. on your greenhouse, keep us posted on how it holds up for you. I hope well. As soon as Christmas is paid off I am planning "fingers crossed" to get one for myself.
Just to have something for right now. I am getting this one.

melvatoo, There are some of those around here. Mostly used in April to jump start seedlings and transplants before frost free date, which for us is around Mothers Day. This is the first winter I've tried heating mine. I'm hoping to have all my limbs intact come spring. Ric
I raise roses from cuttings and I have one of the "tent greenhouses" for that...the second one I plan to use to start seedlings of plants that will need a bit more heat..I wasn't aware of how many tender salvias I have too..
Maybe I will be able to get a real greenhousenext year...

Melvatoo, My I ask The tent greenhouse you have for your rose cuttings the same as this one your getting off of Amazon? James
No, the one from ebay, the tent one is like this one...

Thanks, I have also been looking. But have to go on the cheap way. I am just starting to "try rooting rose cuttings did 8 this past summer and got 4 to grow" still very happy with results. I think I most likley will go with the 6X8 HF one when it goes on sell again like it was a couple of mounths ago. I sure thank you for showing me these you have and are getting. An wish you great success with them. James
