I don't know what to call it, a blight or what. I noticed it last year but just didn't do anything. I am going to cut these two trees down and dispose of the bad parts (maybe I can burn them.) Anybody know what this is?
I asked a botanist at a local nursery but he didn't know.
I have other smaller fig trees and don't want to lose them.
Help, two fig trees have a large dead spot
Have you taken samples to your local county cooperative extension agent? If he doesn't know, he has access to university personnel who would. Provide as much information as you can about the trees and their care. That helps tremendously.
That's a good idea, Next time I drive up there (24 miles) I'll cut one of the attacked limbs off and also take these pictures.
