lyle! how on earth did you get that gorgeous color on Alexa Kathryn? i have had it a few bloom seasons now and i havent gotten anything that looks like that! maybe something you are feeding them? please tell!

I use Nutricote 13-13-13 to fertilize the daylilies in the hybridizing area. Alexa Kathryn - is more a hybridizers tool than a garden daylily not many can get good blooms from AK..

lyle, thanks for the info! do you buy that locally, or do you have to order it? i see it on the net, but i was wondering what the best price you have found for it? will a 50lb bag last a home gardener like me a while?

Tracie - I get my fertilizer locally, it runs about $96.00 per 50lb bag. For a garden application I would think 50lb bag would be fine...The Nutricote 13-13-13 with minors is for my container plants and seedlings..I use osmocote 18-6-12 for the daylily beds.
