Does anyone know of any Plant or Seed swap meets near Altoona or Johnstown, PA? Or how I could find them? lol.
Plant/Seed Swap meets near Altoona, PA??
Sorry....I don't....
Check out the thread here http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1240666/#new they are talking about a swap in Dover. Not sure where that is compared to Altoona but worth a look.
Dover is out around Harrisburg I believe, if so, then thats a good 2 1/2-3 hr drive for me roughly. :( I'll check out that thread though! Thanks!
Yep, that's the one I was thinking about. My goal is to attend. Holly and Ric are the greatest as are all the DGers I have met here. Pat yourselves on the back everyone. Heehee
Lol yeah don't think I can convince my hubby to drive me that far for a plant/seed swap tho lol
My first swap was up to MA 5 1/2 hours away...hubby was convinced when I showed him what the total of what I would have paid for all the plants and seeds that I received for FREE! well just gas $ and some trades....
The farther away they are I am starting to make that my vacation, hubby is sooooo busy with work I need to take them on my own.
LOL My hubby would be the kinda guy to say "what were saving on free plants/seeds... were spending in gas" LOL!
I'm a stay at home mom of 2 kids, I dont drive either, so anywhere I want/need to go, I need my hubby to take me. Both my kids also have disabilities (my son has type 1 diabetes and my daughter has a variety of learning disabilities as well as some other things going on we are trying to get figured out... still in the "ruling out" phase of all that) so all my husbands vacation time is used up on dr appointments, specialist appointments, and therapist appointments for our kids. It really kinda stinks that he can't take a real, relaxing vacation every year, because goodness knows he deserves one, but, we gotta do what we gotta do!
Hes not much of a traveler anyway... he likes to stick to things close to home as much as possible, so I try to ablige as much as I can by finding things closer for us to do together. I think if I could find a plant/seed swap event close to home, the kids would be thrilled to go! Especially my son... hes our little "green thumb" lol!
