Large fall harvest of lilium specium var "Clivorum" bulbs

Waxhaw (Charlotte), NC(Zone 7b)

I dug half of my stock of lilium specium var "clivorum" today and replanted to other places in the yard. This stock was planed near our a/c unit and had to be moved. They grew in shade and became very long and would fall over and break if not stalked (which I typically forgot)

I found 4 very large bulbs (the size of tennis balls) and a number of medium and small bulbs plus countless bulblets, of course.

These were all from 3 small bulbs planed (the size of golf ball)

Can't wait for next spring.

the flowers are indeed lovely. And a nice crop of bulbs to boot.

kd - I've had the same experience with two OP lilies I lifted in November. Each had about 40 to 50 bulbs of varying sizes along with the huge mother bulbs and I did transplant all of them.

I can't help but wonder how many will grow enough to bloom this year.
