Kentia Problems

Beautiful, BC(Zone 8b)

I'm trying to save this large (9-10') Kentia. Originally it had 4 trunks, now down to 3. 2 months ago notices a glob of fertilizer someone left in the top of the pot which I removed and I think that killed one of the trunks. The soil is standard indoor mix - peat, perlite and they've got some charcoal. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The container is only a 5 gallon for a 3 stemmed plant.

I'm surprised they used charcoal in the soil.

what is wrong with charcoal? Looks like you might have a bad case of spider mites. Spray with a non-imidicloprid product.

I've sprayed with safer's soap over the past 4 months. The undersides of the leaves were misted down weekly. Do you think this is old spider mite damage?

could be old damage
