I have this white stuff on the base of cherry tomotoes plant. I thought maybe it was mold, but I don't think its it. I looked somewhere and it sounded like southern blight. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas of what this could be.
White stuff on the base of my cherry tomotoe plant.
IS it the only plant amongst others that has the white stuff at the base of the plant? Do you see any other symptoms if it's the only plant?
I ask b'c Southern Blight usually starts not with white fuzz at the base of the plant, but a brown lesion below the soil line and I'm sure you've read about the other symptoms as well that can occur on mature plants after they get infected.
It's a systemic disease and in the soil so I'd be surprised to find just one plant out of many in the same area that has Southern Blight.
