Butia capitata spots

(Zone 8a)

This butia was moved to it's current pot in early spring and has been growing fine all summer but within the past week or two these spots have appeared all over the plant -- even a few on the spear. I am relatively new to palms and I don't know what may be the cause. Have any of you run into this?

I have one also and see these spots, especially on the older fronds. As far as I know, there's nothing to be concerned about.

could be due to minor nutrient deficiency or possibly a spider mite infection.

I was hoping you'd chime in Bob.
Perhaps cstart should use something like cileated palm nutritional and check for mites.

I'm late to check back, but thank you both for the replies. Since I first posted I have lost the lowest leaves but from the bottom up the spots lessen and the newest three are pretty well spot-free. The soil already had Dr. Earth palm fertilizer in the mix but sometime in August I tried another fertilizer and some pesticide just for good measure--without any particularly good results. I think the butia is fighting through this on its own.
