Morning Glory-What's my name?

McMinnville, TN

Last year I saw this morning glory growing in the ditch in my front yard; I wanted to get seeds from it but the jaws of death (state workers) weed eated it down. This year I caught them in the act and asked them to please not cut it down and they were real nice about it. I had to show them the difference from a morning glory and a weed-this year it has spread so I hope to get the seeds this fall.

Boopsie - Pretty little bloom. Is it a bush or a vine? I don't know the name of this one. Perhaps if you could take a photo of the leaves?

Yes, it is a vine! I hope the attached photo will help you find its name.
Thanks

Boopsie - I am no expert, but to me it looks similar to Calystegia pubescens.

The leaves look most like Hirugao, Japanese bindweed Calystegia japonica Choisy:

Boopsie, that is Calystegia sepium. Usually their blooms are white. A really good find!
