Toad Lilies?

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

Pat alerted me yesterday morning to this pair of toads hanging out in adjacent pots on our patio. Never seen toads together before, perhaps we interupted the filming of a Cialis commercial for toads. (bathtubs)

David---

Good time for me to ask you a question.....

Today,I finally, collected seed from your yellow, perennial Foxglove....

I have a couple of questions:

1--Is this Foxglove as toxic as the Digitalis one? The seeds look the same!
2--Should these seeds be sowed NOW--like Nature would do it for next year?
3--Will this Foxglove seed the same as the regular one? Then continue growing
next spring and bloom? Is ir=t as serious a biennial as all the others?

How is your Painted Japanese Fern doing?
I planted mine--and it is growing well.....

Happy 4th to you! Gita

Gita--

1--pretty similar, don't make tea with them!
2--yes for best results, or winter sow, sow indoors ... etc.
3--it is a true perennial, and a plant becomes a clump that gets bigger each year.

The painted fern is rebounding nicely and waiting for the arborists to finish up removing some trees Tuesday so that it can move into its new home and not get smashed or trampled.

And a very happy 4th to you too! David

P.S. Any comments on the toads? I got a real kick out of them.

David,
Ditto what Holly said. That picture is too cute! Looks like they found a comfy spot.

My 2 year old great-niece was opening and shutting the cabinets on the dock the other day, and when she opened the one under the sink, she pointed and said "poo poo". Well, it was the biggest toad I've ever seen, and she was right - it did look like a big pile of poo LOL.

It must be a good year for toads. I have been seeing quite a few about. I haven't seen any couples, yet. I built a couple of "toad houses" from rocks, but haven't seen any toads in them, yet.

What a cute picture! Whatever possessed them to sit side by side like that...lol the ad reference....

Teri- so funny!

It should be a good year for toads, with adequate rainfall, I'm surprised I haven't noticed more of them.
