Is there a real difference between the two other than aesthetics? I've read cedar may have slightly more insect repelling oil but both are very effective. The price for either is the same so I'm just wondering if there's any real benefit to choosing one over the other.

I went to the local nursery since they sold both and asked them about it - they said the cedar will help deter ticks and termites...I went with the cedar!
That's interesting. I know we still put stuff in cedar chests because it keeps the moths away. Didn't think about other bugs!
