just bought this little Phoenix r. and will be putting it in ground tomorrow. i don't cover the top roots, right? it's been a while since i planted a palm and there is a lot of top root showing so i plant to the height of the pot it's in now, right or wrong?
thanks in advance.
just double-checking on planting this one
I'd plant it at the level it's in the pot now, it seems happy enough with that anyway. If you planted it deeper and covered a lot of those roots it would probably end up with more exposed ones later on. I've got large P, roebelenii in the garden and they have a lot of root mass exposed above the ground. It happens with lots of them.
that's what i thought! just wanted to be sure. thanks so much.
No worries. Where you see them growing in the ground they're usually sitting on a 'mound' of roots.
