New Lily

Poland, ME

This is a lily I hope to have available next year. I have one to trial this year! it is as close to purple as I have ever seen and am told it is indeed white with purple. I am told it is fragrant!

Good luck with it, Ramona.

Take lots of photos when it blooms this year. We'll all be looking forward to it.

I'd buy that one if it was within my price range. Very pretty!

Intriguing

Although I am not a big fan of down facing blooms, the color is so unique, I think I would give it a try. I just love beauty whether it's straight up, sideways or upside down. lol

I don't expect it to be outrageously priced as it has been propagated in significant numbers already. The problem is they kept them all in Europe this year!

I love anything purple, in flowers that is. I have Purple King and have ordered Purple Prince. And also I think Lily Nook has a variety with the word purple in it. Of course none of these are true purple, much like the near black ones like Dimention etc. This one seems to have a good purple coloration.

I have Purple Prince, its not as dark as the photos showed. I believe if it had more shade duering the day that would make it darker.

The flower for the VB ad is on the left, reality on the right: huge disappointment and mine are in the shade.

Ohh yes.
After 4 years gardening here and ordering many plants and bulbs,I never trust the pictures. I can ajust them in Photoshop to be sure I wont be disapointed . Especially if the garden sites photo looks dark as far as leaves go.
I believe they ajust the contrast to be sure the purples are dark.

How about adjustments in color to be sure of sales to unsuspecting gardeners?

I am that unsuspecting gardner.I ordered a Midnight Lily form a DG favorite lily grower. No way was it as dark in my garden.
It was moved to the "pink lily" section and away from the yelow lilies it was planted with.
Just my quirkiness but I am not fond of pink and yellow together in any form.
Some garden centers buy photos from a central directory.
Thats why when you google an image ,the same image shows up under different vendors and webpages.
I dont know if the fiddling with the image goes on when the website builder enters the image or the photo is dark because the photographer was told to make the image look dark purple.

I was able to get a small quantity of these for fall delivery...
