Winter 2010-2011: Growing plants under lights indoors! Pt 2

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

I realized that the first thread had over a 100 posts, so thought it was about time to start a new thread to continue this topic!

We came from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1141062/

I'll start this new thread off with a pretty bloom photo. This is Diluted Fuji no Muraski. This vine has not displayed the diluted blooms, so it's possible that the genes in this cultivar are reverting back to the original true FNM vine.

Y'all are going to have to forgive me, but I didn't mark for sure what each of these following vines are. Life is rush, rush, rush these days ... so I will just share the photos and make a guess at what they are. LOL!

I believe this one is a NOID from Colin which he labeled "Black NOID". It does have dark color blooms, but they fade to a dark lavender as the day goes on. Ironically, the fresh blooms are more of a dark reddish pink. But the past few blooms are showing an interesting color and design. Here is the entire vine.

The majority of blooms look like this one.

But I've had 2 blooms on the vine that looked like this. Since this vine is indoors and not exposed to rain or dew, I have no idea what is causing this color or ray pattern, but it's pretty neat looking!

Here is a photo showing both blooms on this same vine.

Here is another of those odd color blooms taken today. The reddish blooms with blue rays are always smaller blooms than the dark lavender blooms. Seems to be throwing some unusual gene!

This is Antoinette's Chocolate Picotee x Ten Ten cross bloom. The speckles are more of a chocolate color, not bright pink like Ten Ten usually produces. I really like it! Thanks, Antoinette for sharing this beauty!

In comparison, I grew two seeds from Antoinette's cross. The other vine produced blooms that had more of the pink speckles in the bloom instead of the chocolate color of the bloom above! Love the differences!

The Ipomoea sepacutiensis has yet to bloom, but it makes a magnificent bonsai vine! Isn't this bushy vine attractive? I think so!

I am getting just a few seed pods ripening on some of the vines. Always a plus!

Two more seed pods on a different vine.

Mixed NOID bloom from Onalee's JMG packet.

Antoinette's cross showing the entire vine. This one blooms a lot! :-) :-) :-) You can see where I have to keep cutting/pruning the tops of the vines as they grow like crazy!

Don't remember what cultivar this one was. But I love the color!♥

I love this massive amount of speckles on the Purple Speckles vine. This one does not want to produce seeds! Grrrr ...

A NOID I named Cinnamon.

I was blown away by the deep color of some of the blooms on Cinnamon. Really a rusty red color!

Kai no Kasumi! Beautiful bloom! Such rich character this vine has!

This one seems to produce almost red blooms. Another eye-catcher!

Becky, just incredible blooms you're getting this winter, so pretty.
Can't pick a favorite but the no Kasumi is stunning as are some of the others

Beautiful flowers, Becky. Just noticed a couple of Morning Glories coming up outside yesterday!

I love your gorgeous blooms Becky!! The vines look very so healthy too!!

Becky, your flowers are beautiful!

You had 100% more success growing them inside than I had growing my vines outside this past growing season. We have had sooooo much rain - I suspect the seeds rotted before they had time to germinate and the ones that did, needs more sun and heat.
I have one vine (Candy Pink or Pink Candy ??) that has produced flowers. Another three or four that that is about 7" tall, but not worth mentioning...

All stunners Becky!!

Here is my one MG that just popped up in a pot of stevia and coleus. It bloomed with no warning. About 3 inches tall too.

Thanks everyone! I've been very lucky with these indoor vines!

gardenpom - Glad to hear you have MGs popping I up!

Elsa - Sorry to hear you've had another lousy year for growing MGs.

I agree about Daniel's bloom! Most lovely!!!

My vines are really blooming a lot now. I guess the fertilizer finally kicked in! LOL!

Here are just a few. I didn't mark the names down because of time constraints. Just grabbed my camera and clicked away! Enjoy ...

Sorry about that everyone ... I meant to post more, but just got too tired and had to go to bed. So slow uploading photos. Here are the rest. Again, I didn't write down the names, but I could probably guess at what they all are.

Close-up of one bloom. Definitely a Jishi of some sort. I've never grown one this color. The seed came from Antoinette.
